MARIO TENNIS FEVER: THE BEST RALLIES IN YEARS, THE THINNEST SOLO MODE

7.5 of 10 bananas. Camelot's Switch 2 tennis game adds Fever Rackets, a big roster, and a pile of match types. The core tennis is sharp and great with friends; the Adventure mode is short and the solo menu runs dry fast.

Honest note: This is not a fresh hands-on playtest. I built this verdict from launch reviews, critic consensus, update history, and what is known about the game today. If I put real hours in on stream, I will update the score and say so.

Get Mario Tennis Fever for Switch 2 on AmazonSit with me a moment. Every troop has the cousin who only plays sports games when the whole family is on the couch. Mario Tennis Fever is built for that cousin. Put four apes on one screen and it sings. Play it alone at midnight and you hear the crickets.
What It Wants To Be
Mario Tennis Fever is an arcade tennis game. You pick a Mushroom Kingdom character, pick a Fever Racket that gives a special shot, and play singles or doubles. There is a short story Adventure mode, tournaments, odd rule variants, and online play.
What Works
Critics landed it at 76 on Metacritic, a touch above Mario Tennis Aces. Reviewers kept praising the same thing: the tennis itself. Movement is restrained, rallies flow, and the Fever Rackets add chaos without the constant slow motion of Aces. The roster is large and there are many match types for a party.
What Breaks
Listen well. The Adventure mode reads like a long tutorial, and several critics called the solo content thin. Some found the late difficulty spikes harsh and a few rackets too strong. Reviewers also mentioned mild online lag. At 69.99 dollars, a solo player pays full price for a party game.
Who Should Play
Buy it if you have people to play with on the couch or online. Skip it or wait for a sale if you play alone; Mario Party Superstars or a real RPG will give you more hours.
