FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S: SECURITY BREACH: ONE NIGHT IN THE MALL OF TEETH

6.5 of 10 bananas. The series leaves the security office and lets you run free through a giant neon pizza mall at night. Big, bright, and full of great ideas, but it launched broken, the saves are punishing, and the scares wear thin before the end.

Honest note: This is not a fresh hands-on playtest. I built this verdict from launch reviews, critic consensus, update history, and what is known about the game today. If I put real hours in on stream, I will update the score and say so.

Get Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach for PS5 on AmazonSit with me a moment. Every young ape in the troop knows the bear. They know the songs, the jump scares, the theories. Security Breach was the game where the bear finally stopped hunting you and started helping you, and the kids lost their minds.
What It Wants To Be
You are Gregory, a kid trapped overnight inside Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, a huge mall of arcades, rides, and stages. Glamrock Freddy, a friendly animatronic, hides you in his chest and helps you survive until 6 AM. The rest of the band, Chica, Roxy, and Monty, are hunting you, along with a security guard named Vanessa and a strange figure called Vanny. You sneak, hide, solve small puzzles, and explore an open map instead of watching cameras from one chair.
What Works
The Pizzaplex is a fantastic setting: neon, plastic, and music that turns sinister when the lights drop. Riding inside Freddy is a sweet idea, and each animatronic chases you in its own way. The open map makes the series feel bigger than ever, and the lore hunters in the troop have years of theories to chew on. Steel Wool also patched the game for a long time after launch and added a free expansion, Ruin, in 2023.
What Breaks
Listen well. It launched full of bugs and performance trouble, and while patches fixed a lot, it still feels rough in places. Saves are spread out, so one mistake can cost you a long stretch. The scares rely on the same chase over and over, and the ending is confusing unless you hunt for the right path. It is long for a horror game, and it drags in the middle.
Who Should Play
Play it if you or your kids already love Five Nights at Freddy's, or if a bright, silly, scary mall sounds like fun. Skip it if you want polished horror, or if losing progress makes you quit.
