LITTLE NIGHTMARES: A CHILD IN A HUNGRY WORLD

8.0 of 10 bananas. A short, stylish horror puzzle about scale, hunger, and running when you should hide.

By the Alpha. PS4 disc listing. Updated Oct 15 2026.

Honest note: This is not a fresh hands-on playtest. I built this verdict from launch reviews, critic consensus, patch history, and what is known about the game today. If I put real hours in on stream, I will update the score and say so.

Platforms: The Amazon button is Little Nightmares Complete Edition for PlayStation 4 (Bandai Namco, ASIN verified). The disc carries the base game. Secrets of the Maw DLC historically shipped as a code, and some buyers reported expired or region locked codes, so confirm the listing notes before you buy. Also on PC through Steam, Xbox, and Switch.

Sit with me a moment. You are small. Everything else is mouth and hand. Little Nightmares understands childhood fear better than most screamers with bigger budgets.

What It Wants To Be

Tarsier's 2017 puzzle platform horror follows Six through the Maw, a vessel of grotesque adults and hungry rooms. Stealth, timing, and environmental puzzles matter more than combat.

What Works

Art direction is unforgettable. Sound design does half the scare work. Set pieces use scale brilliantly. The Complete Edition idea (base plus Maw chapters) is the right way to sell it when the code works.

What Breaks

Listen well. The campaign is short. Some platforming can feel sticky. The story stays abstract by design. Complete Edition buyers should verify DLC code status, because expired vouchers show up in reviews.

Who Should Play

Play if you liked Inside or want stylish horror without a gun. Skip if you need a long campaign or clear lore dumps. Kids should not treat the rating lightly.
