WEBFISHING: A CHATROOM WITH A FISHING ROD, AND THE MOST RELAXED LOBBY ON STEAM

8.0 of 10 bananas. A tiny online hangout where cartoon animals fish, play guitar, draw with chalk, and chat. Five dollars of pure calm and silly fun with friends, but thin if you want goals or play alone.
By the Alpha. Steam listing. Updated Oct 29 2026.
Honest note: This is not a fresh hands-on playtest. I built this verdict from launch reviews, critic consensus, update history, and what is known about the game today. If I put real hours in on stream, I will update the score and say so.

Get WEBFISHING on SteamSit with me a moment. Not every evening needs a boss fight. Sometimes the troop just wants to sit by the water, make bad fish puns, and play a guitar badly while someone draws a giant banana in chalk on the dock. That is this whole game, and it is wonderful.
What It Wants To Be
WEBFISHING is a multiplayer, chatroom focused fishing game. You join a camp lobby as a little animal, cast your line, and work through a journal of nearly 100 creatures, from snails to sharks. Money buys better rods, baits, lures, and cosmetics. Between catches you hang out: there is a playable guitar, chalk for drawing, toys, and text chat. The developer says it has some swearing and light crude humor.
What Works
It was a word of mouth hit when it launched in autumn 2024, and players still love it. The fishing loop is simple and soothing, the lobby turns strangers into friends, and the guitar and chalk lead to real creativity and nonsense. At five dollars, it is one of the best group hangouts on Steam.
What Breaks
Listen well. There is not much to do once your journal is full. Public lobbies depend on who shows up, and chat with strangers is not for young apes. It is PC only and English only, and alone it is just a pleasant fishing game.
Who Should Play
Play it with friends who want a calm place to chat and goof off, or if you like cozy games. Skip it if you need goals, combat, or a story.
STRENGTHS
- Soothing fishing loop
- Guitar, chalk, and toys spark fun
- Turns lobbies into friendly hangouts
- Five dollars
HONEST COSTS
- Thin once the journal is done
- Public chat not for kids
- PC and English only
- Lonely when played solo
Store note: the troop still needs an Amazon referral for this one. WEBFISHING is a digital PC game on Steam, so no Amazon listing exists. Steam is the only button until a fair listing is real. This is not an affiliate link.
