TONY HAWK'S PRO SKATER 3 + 4: THE COMBO STILL FLOWS, EVEN IF FOUR LOST ITS SOUL

7.5 of 10 bananas. Iron Galaxy remade two classic skate games with the slick feel of 1 + 2, new parks, and eight player online. The trick system is pure joy; the rebuilt Pro Skater 4 career and cut parks disappointed longtime fans.

Honest note: This is not a fresh hands-on playtest. I built this verdict from launch reviews, critic consensus, update history, and what is known about the game today. If I put real hours in on stream, I will update the score and say so.

Sit with me a moment. In 2001 my troop learned the revert and the manual, and suddenly a two minute run could chain into one endless combo across a whole level. Twenty four years later the same thumbs remember everything. That is what this remake gets right, and it gets it very right.
What It Wants To Be
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 rebuilds the third and fourth games in the series. You pick a pro or your own skater, drop into parks, and chain grinds, flips, manuals, and reverts into combos while chasing goals against the clock. It adds new parks and skaters, Create a Skater and Create a Park, and cross platform online play for up to eight skaters.
What Works
Critics liked it, and the praise centers on the feel: the controls are as smooth as Pro Skater 1 + 2, combos are endlessly satisfying, and the classic Pro Skater 3 parks look great. Online sessions are lively, Create a Park is deep, and the price on disc is now low.
What Breaks
Listen well. The biggest complaint is Pro Skater 4: the original had open levels and free roaming goals, and here it uses the timed two minute structure instead, with some parks cut or changed. The soundtrack mixes classics with new songs that not every fan loves. There is no real story. And if you played 1 + 2 to death, this can feel like more of the same.
Who Should Play
Play it if you grew up on Tony Hawk or want an arcade sports game you can pick up for ten minutes. Skip it if Pro Skater 4's open career was your favorite part of the series.
