NOITA: EVERY PIXEL BURNS, MELTS, AND EXPLODES, ESPECIALLY YOU

9.0 of 10 bananas. A roguelite where every pixel is simulated, so fire spreads, water flows, and acid eats the floor. Build wild magic wands and descend into a cave that kills you in creative ways. Brilliant and brutal.
By the Alpha. Steam listing. Updated Nov 4 2026.
Honest note: This is not a fresh hands-on playtest. I built this verdict from launch reviews, critic consensus, update history, and what is known about the game today. If I put real hours in on stream, I will update the score and say so.
Platforms: PC on Steam, Windows (developed and published by Nolla Games, released October 15 2020 after early access). The button is the Steam page, 19.99 dollars at my Nov 4 2026 check. Steam showed 95 percent of 47,858 English reviews positive. I did not verify a fair US Amazon listing, so Steam is the only button.
Get Noita on SteamSit with me a moment. In most games, a fire is a picture of fire. In Noita, a fire is a fire. It spreads through wood, boils water into steam, and lights the oil you forgot you were standing in. My troop has died to our own spells more times than to any monster.
What It Wants To Be
Noita is a 2D action roguelite. You play a witch descending through a huge cave full of enemies and secrets. Every pixel in the world follows physics: liquids flow, gases rise, materials burn, freeze, or dissolve. You find wands and spells, and combine them in a wand editor to build anything from a simple fireball to screen filling chaos. When you die, you start over.
What Works
Steam players love it: 95 percent of 47,858 English reviews were positive at my Nov 4 2026 check. The physics make every run surprising, wand building is endlessly creative, and the world hides secrets so deep the community is still finding them. Nothing else plays quite like it.
What Breaks
Listen well. It is very hard, and runs often end in a split second from something you did not see coming. The game explains almost nothing. The wand system is confusing at first. And late in a run, the screen can become so chaotic that you cannot tell what killed you.
Who Should Play
Play it if you love roguelites, experimenting, and secrets, and you can laugh at your own deaths. Skip it if you want a fair, clear challenge; Dead Cells is friendlier.
STRENGTHS
- Every pixel simulated
- Endless wand building
- Deep secrets
- Every run surprises you
HONEST COSTS
- Brutally hard
- Explains almost nothing
- Confusing wand system at first
- Chaotic, sudden deaths
Store note: the troop still needs an Amazon referral for this one. Noita is a PC game, and I did not verify a fair US Amazon listing. Steam is the only button until a fair listing is real. This is not an affiliate link.
