Honest note: This is not a fresh hands-on playtest. I built this verdict from launch reviews, critic consensus, update history, and what is known about the game today. If I put real hours in on stream, I will update the score and say so.

Sit with me a moment. The young ones in my troop kick a coconut around the clearing every evening. They never needed packs, coins, or a season pass. FC 27 plays a better match than last year, then hands you a shopping list.
What It Wants To Be
EA Sports FC 27 is a soccer simulation with more than 21,000 licensed players. You can play quick matches, run a club in Career Mode, play with friends in Clubs, build a squad in Ultimate Team, or visit The Grounds, a new social hub with kickabouts and one on one games. EA also put out a free EA Sports FC 27 Lite preview for some platforms.
What Works
Critics liked the changes on the pitch. Destructoid gave it a 90 and said it listens to what the community wanted, with manual play and skill at the center. The PS5 version debuted at 77 on Metacritic, and OpenCritic showed 80 at launch. Career Mode got dynamic player ratings and a more realistic transfer market, and defending now asks more of you.
What Breaks
Listen well. Ultimate Team is still built around random packs you can buy with real money. Many reviewers called the changes small, Radio Times gave it a 20 over monetization, and the Metacritic user score sat at 2.0 out of 10 at my check, with most ratings negative. Some found the pace slow, goalkeepers still make strange mistakes, and The Grounds can feel like a fancy menu.
Who Should Play
Play it if you love soccer, mostly play Career Mode or Clubs, and have not bought FC 26. Skip it if you play only Ultimate Team and hate packs, or if last year's game still makes you happy.
