Platforms: The Amazon button is Deep Rock Galactic: Special Edition for PlayStation 5, the physical release (Skybound Games). Per the listing it includes the Dark Future Pack and Mega Corp Pack plus art cards and a poster. At my Oct 16 check it was in stock from a third-party seller, shipped by Amazon, in the low teens. Online co-op on PS5 needs PlayStation Plus. PC on Steam and Xbox versions also exist.

Sit with me a moment. A troop that works together eats. Deep Rock Galactic understands this better than almost any shooter. You need the driller, the gunner, the engineer, and the scout, and you need them talking.

What It Wants To Be

Ghost Ship Games released it in full in May 2020. Up to four space dwarves drop into the caves of Hoxxes IV to mine minerals and complete missions for a company that does not care if they live. Every cave is procedurally generated and fully destructible.

What Works

The four classes need each other, and that makes co-op feel real. Digging through any wall makes every cave yours. Swarms of alien bugs keep pressure high. The community is famously friendly, and the developers kept adding free content and seasons for years.

What Breaks

Listen well. Solo play with the drone Bosco works but misses the point. The progression grind for cosmetics and upgrades is long. Mission types repeat over time. New players can get lost in the dark until they learn to light the way.

Who Should Play

Play if you have friends for co-op, or want a kind public lobby. Skip if you only play alone or want competitive shooting.
