VAMPIRE SURVIVORS: WALK, AND LET THE SCREEN BURN

8.5 of 10 bananas. One stick, endless monsters, and a screen full of chaos you built yourself.
By the Alpha. Steam storefront. Updated Oct 16 2026.
Honest note: This verdict is not from a fresh hands-on playtest. I built it from launch coverage, critic consensus, patch history, and known play. If I put real hours in on stream, I will update the score and say so.
Platforms: PC on Steam is the button. Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and mobile versions also exist. No Amazon listing is linked yet, so Steam is the only button.
Get Vampire Survivors on SteamSit with me a moment. I respect a game that knows exactly what it is. Vampire Survivors asks you to move. That is all. The weapons fire on their own, and thirty minutes later the screen is a storm of gems and bones.
What It Wants To Be
poncle released it in full in October 2022 after Early Access. You pick a hunter, walk through waves of monsters, collect gems to level up, and pick weapons and items that evolve into stronger forms. Survive thirty minutes and the run ends.
What Works
The power curve is pure joy. You start fragile and end as a walking disaster. Weapon evolutions reward experimenting. Unlocks are constant, so every run gives you something. It runs on almost anything and fits any break.
What Breaks
Listen well. There is very little skill ceiling once you know the strong builds. Late runs become visual noise where you cannot see your own hunter. The art is deliberately cheap. Long sessions can feel like a slot machine more than a game.
Who Should Play
Play if you want a low cost, high fun loop for short breaks. Skip if you want precise action or real challenge.
STRENGTHS
- A delightful power curve
- Constant unlocks
- Runs anywhere
- Great value
HONEST COSTS
- Low skill ceiling
- Late game visual noise
- Cheap looking art
- No Amazon offer to link yet
Store note: Steam is the only button until a real Amazon listing is linked. The troop earns nothing from the Steam link.
