7.5 of 10 bananas. A cheap co-op horror comedy where friends dive into the Old World with a camera, film monsters, and upload the footage for views. Hilarious for a few nights, thin after that.

By the Alpha. Steam listing. Updated Oct 27 2026.

Honest note: This is not a fresh hands-on playtest. I built this verdict from launch reviews, critic consensus, update history, and what is known about the game today. If I put real hours in on stream, I will update the score and say so.

Platforms: PC only, through Steam (developed by Skog and published by Landfall, released April 1 2024). The button is the Steam page, 7.99 dollars at my Oct 27 2026 check before any sale. There is no console version and no Amazon listing. Up to four players online.

Sit with me a moment. Every streamer knows the feeling. Something scary happens, and the first thought is not run. It is: was the camera rolling? Content Warning builds a whole game out of that bad instinct, and it is funnier than it has any right to be.

What It Wants To Be

Content Warning is a co-op horror game for up to four players from the studio behind PEAK. Your crew takes a diving bell into the Old World with one camera, films strange monsters and each other screaming, then returns to the surface to upload the clip to SpookTube, the game's own video site. Views earn money for better gear and props. You have three days to hit a view quota, or it is over.

What Works

It went huge at launch: Landfall gave it away free for the first 24 hours and millions of players claimed it, and the Steam reviews stayed positive after that. The core idea is perfect for friends. The best moments come from bad camera work, a friend dragged off screen, and watching your own disaster back in the lobby. Proximity voice chat turns every run into a sketch show.

What Breaks

Listen well. There is not much depth. The monster list and the Old World layouts start repeating after a few nights, and the progression is light. Solo play misses the point entirely. It is a party game at a party price, and it will not hold a group for months the way Lethal Company or R.E.P.O. can.

Who Should Play

Play it with three friends who love horror comedy and laughing at each other, or if you liked PEAK and want Landfall's earlier joke. Skip it if you play alone or want a deep horror game.

STRENGTHS

  • Brilliant camera and views idea
  • Huge laughs with four friends
  • Proximity chat chaos
  • Very cheap

HONEST COSTS

  • Repeats after a few nights
  • Light progression
  • Pointless solo
  • PC only
ALPHA VERDICT: 7.5 of 10. A cheap, clever horror party for four friends. Buy it for a few loud nights, not for a long run. Get Content Warning on Steam, then meet the troop on Twitch.

Store note: the troop still needs an Amazon referral for this one. Content Warning is PC only and sold on Steam, so no Amazon listing is expected. Steam is the only button until a fair listing is real. This is not an affiliate link.
