AVATAR: FRONTIERS OF PANDORA: THE MOST BEAUTIFUL JUNGLE IN GAMES, AND A VERY FAMILIAR MAP

Sit with me a moment. The first time the troop climbed a giant tree on Pandora at dawn, with glowing plants waking up below, we just stood there. This is one of the most beautiful worlds any game has built. Then the map filled with outposts to clear, and the spell weakened a little.
What It Wants To Be
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a first person open world action adventure. You play a Na'vi raised by humans who returns to the jungle to fight the RDA, the human company stripping the planet. You explore the Western Frontier, hunt and gather for crafting, learn about the clans, ride and fly a banshee, and attack RDA bases with bows and guns. You can play the story in online co-op.
What Works
Critics placed it in the low 70s on Metacritic, and almost all of them praised the world. Pandora is lush and alive, the sound design is excellent, and flying your banshee over the forest is a joy. Hunting and gathering connect you to the land, and the PS5 version looks superb.
What Breaks
Listen well. The structure is a classic Ubisoft checklist: outposts, crafting, and gear numbers. Combat is fine but not memorable. The story and characters are flat. The map can be confusing because it hides markers on purpose. And this copy is from a third-party seller.
Who Should Play
Play it if you loved the Avatar films or want to get lost in a gorgeous world. Skip it if you are tired of open world checklists.
