RAY-BAN META GEN 2 WAYFARER: A CAMERA ON YOUR FACE, FOR A PRICE
7.0 of 10 bananas. Camera glasses for the troop that films its own life: first person clips at a convention, a reaction at a launch party, a hands free call while you walk to the game store. A small Amazon price cut put them in the news on Nov 2. Sold by Amazon.com at 359.99 dollars at my check, and not hands-on tested.
By the Alpha. Gear review. Updated Nov 5 2026.
Honest note: This is not a hands-on test. I have not worn these glasses, filmed with them, or measured their battery for this review. I built this verdict from the Amazon listing, The Gadgeteer's Nov 2 2026 deal report, and Ray-Ban's product page. If I wear a pair on stream, I will update the score and say so.
Store check, Nov 5 2026: in stock, sold and shipped by Amazon.com, at 359.99 dollars against a 379.00 dollar list price. The button goes to the Shiny Black frame with green lenses; other frames and lenses cost more. Prices and sellers change, so look before you pay.
Sit with me a moment. The troop films everything now. The line outside the store at midnight, the reaction when the trailer drops, the walk through a convention hall. Most of us do it with a phone held up like a banana. These glasses put the camera where your eyes already are.
What It Is
The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 Wayfarer is a pair of sunglasses with a camera, speakers, and microphones built in. The Gadgeteer reports a 12 megapixel camera that shoots photos and up to 3K video at 30 frames per second, two open ear speakers, and a five microphone array for calls and voice commands. Battery life is up to eight hours of typical use, and the charging case adds up to 48 more. These are maker claims; I have not tested them.
Why It Is Moving
On Nov 2 2026, The Gadgeteer reported that Amazon cut this exact configuration, Shiny Black with green lenses, to 359.99 dollars from 379 dollars, while the other Gen 2 frames stayed at full price. At my Nov 5 check the Amazon listing still showed 359.99 dollars, an Amazon's Choice badge, 500 plus bought in the past month, and 4.0 stars from 434 ratings. Be clear on what that is: a 5 percent cut and steady sales, not a sellout. It is the weakest buzz signal I have used for a gear pick in a while.
Who It Is For
Creators who post first person clips to TikTok, Instagram, or an IRL stream, and want both hands free. Also anyone who takes a lot of calls while walking and likes open ear audio.
What To Watch Out For
First, the price: 359.99 dollars is a lot for a camera and earbuds you wear. Second, you need a compatible phone, Wi-Fi, a Meta account, and the Meta AI app, and some AI features are limited by country and language. Third, the box has no charging cable. Fourth, these are standard green sun lenses, not clear or Transitions, so they are for outdoors. And a camera on your face asks for manners: tell people when you are filming.
