GAMESIR G7 PRO: AN XBOX PAD WITH ELITE AMBITIONS AND A CABLE

GameSir G7 Pro wired controller for Xbox, black with a red accent, on its charging station
Product image credit: GameSir, from the Amazon listing, placed on a white canvas. This is the black G7 Pro, with a red accent on the shell, that the button opens. Per the listing, the charging station comes in the box.

7.5 of 10 bananas. A feature-packed Xbox and PC controller with TMR sticks, Hall effect triggers, back buttons, and a charging dock, climbing the Amazon charts for half the price of an Elite. On Xbox it is wired only, and reliability reports are mixed.

Honest note: This is not a hands-on test. I have not held this controller for this review. I built this verdict from the Amazon listing and its Best Sellers ranks, buyer ratings, Amazon's summary of buyer feedback, and a published hands-on review from Tom's Guide. If I run it on stream, I will update the score and say so.

Sit with me a moment. Every gorilla who has played on an Xbox for a few years knows the slow betrayal of stick drift. Your character starts walking on their own, and you start pricing a new pad. This week the controller the troop keeps buying is not the Microsoft one. It is a GameSir.

What It Is

The G7 Pro carries a Designed for Xbox badge on its listing art and works with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Android. Per the listing, it uses GameSir's TMR sticks, a magnetic sensor design meant to resist the drift that wears out ordinary potentiometer sticks, plus Hall effect analog triggers with clicky trigger stops you can switch on. It adds extra buttons (two shoulder buttons next to the bumpers and two lockable back buttons), a 1000Hz polling rate on PC over wired or the 2.4G dongle, gyro aiming on PC only, a 1200mAh battery, and a charging station that starts and stops charging when you set it down. The GameSir Nexus app handles stick curves and remapping. Those are maker claims; I have not measured them.

Read this before you buy: on Xbox it is wired only. Wireless 2.4G is for PC, and Bluetooth is for Android. Tom's Guide also reports that Xbox caps polling at 400Hz, so the 1000Hz figure is a PC number.

Why It Is Selling

On October 19 2026 it sat at number 23 on Amazon's Best Sellers in Video Games, out of the whole department, a few spots above the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller. On the listing itself it showed number 1 in Xbox One Gamepads and Standard Controllers and number 2 in Xbox Series X and S Controllers, an Amazon's Choice badge, and more than 7,000 bought in the past month, with 4.3 of 5 stars from 5,378 ratings. At my check it was 79.99 dollars, sold by GameSir Official Store US and shipped by Amazon. The press agrees it is a serious pad: Tom's Guide's hands-on review praised the TMR sticks, the Hall effect triggers, and the comfort, and called it a cheaper alternative to the Xbox Elite Series 2. With Modern Warfare 4 days away, a pad built for precise aim is an easy sell.

Who It Is For

Xbox players who sit close enough to the console for a cable, PC players who want one pad for Steam with real wireless, and anyone tired of replacing drifting sticks. The extra buttons help in shooters, where you can jump or slide without taking a thumb off the right stick.

What To Watch Out For

Listen well. Amazon's own summary says buyers love the controller quality, the TMR sticks, and the premium feel, but reliability and connectivity get mixed feedback. Some buyers report a left stick that stops working, wireless dropouts on PC, and squeaky ABXY buttons, and button responsiveness reviews lean negative. Some buyers still report drift, even with TMR sticks. Tom's Guide noted that the face buttons and sticks cannot be swapped, and that rivals near this price offer more back buttons. A wireless Xbox version exists only as a pricier special edition sold by GameSir, not through this button.

STRENGTHS

  • TMR sticks and Hall effect triggers
  • Extra buttons and trigger stops
  • Charging station in the box
  • Huge buyer base, ships from Amazon

HONEST COSTS

  • Wired only on Xbox
  • Mixed reliability reports
  • Squeaky button complaints
  • Sticks and face buttons not swappable
ALPHA VERDICT: 7.5 of 10. Buy it if you play on Xbox near your console or on PC, want drift-resistant sticks, Hall effect triggers, and extra buttons, and do not want to pay Elite money. Skip it if you need a wireless pad for Xbox from the couch, or if a squeaky button would ruin your week. Get the GameSir G7 Pro for Xbox and PC on Amazon, then meet the troop on Twitch.
