WO LONG: FALLEN DYNASTY: DEFLECT OR DIE IN THE THREE KINGDOMS

8.0 of 10 bananas. Team Ninja's dark fantasy soulslike set in China's Three Kingdoms era, built around deflecting attacks. Fast, tense, and thrilling when it clicks, with repeated enemies, reused areas, and a rough launch on PC.

Honest note: This is not a fresh hands-on playtest. I built this verdict from launch reviews, critic consensus, update history, and what is known about the game today. If I put real hours in on stream, I will update the score and say so.

Sit with me a moment. Most soulslikes teach you to roll away. Wo Long teaches you to step in. When a demon swings, you press one button at the right moment and turn its strike back on it. The first time a boss crumbles from your deflects, you feel like a legend of the Three Kingdoms.
What It Wants To Be
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a hard action RPG in the soulslike style, set during the fall of the Han dynasty with demons and dark magic. You create a militia soldier and fight alongside famous generals like Liu Bei and Cao Cao. Combat centers on deflecting attacks and managing a Spirit gauge, with martial arts, magic spells, and summoned divine beasts. A morale system raises your strength as you conquer each area, and you can play the story in co-op.
What Works
Critics placed it around 80 on Metacritic. The deflect system is fast and satisfying, bosses are thrilling, and the morale system lets you shape the difficulty. It is more forgiving than Nioh, so it is a good step into Team Ninja's games. Expansions added more stages and weapons.
What Breaks
Listen well. Enemies and areas repeat too often, and the story is hard to follow if you do not know the Three Kingdoms. The loot is messy. The PC version had performance problems at launch. And deflect focused combat can feel narrow compared with Nioh 2's huge move sets.
Who Should Play
Play it if you love Sekiro, Nioh, or fast, hard action. Skip it if hard games frustrate you, or if you want a deep story.
