7.0 of 10 bananas. Peach finally headlines her own game, changing costumes to become a swordfighter, detective, kung fu master, and more inside a magic theater. Joyful and full of variety, but very easy, short, and choppy in places.

Honest note: This is not a fresh hands-on playtest. I built this verdict from launch reviews, critic consensus, update history, and what is known about the game today. If I put real hours in on stream, I will update the score and say so.

Platforms: Nintendo Switch only (developed by Good-Feel, published by Nintendo, released March 22 2024). It also runs on Switch 2. The Amazon button is the US Version Switch cartridge. At my Oct 27 2026 check it was sold by a third-party seller named United Auto Sale and shipped by Amazon, a little under the original 59.99 dollar price. That is an odd name for a game seller, so read the seller rating before you pay.

Sit with me a moment. For forty years the princess waited in a castle while the plumber did the work. My youngest troop member asked me why once, and I had no good answer. Nintendo finally gave her a stage of her own.

What It Wants To Be

Princess Peach: Showtime! is an action adventure set inside the Sparkle Theater, which Grape and her Sour Bunch have taken over. With the ribbon fairy Stella, Peach jumps into each play and transforms into a new role with its own rules: Swordfighter Peach fights, Detective Peach hunts clues, Patissiere Peach bakes, Kung Fu Peach brawls, Cowgirl Peach lassos, Ninja Peach sneaks, and more. Each stage is short and plays like its own small game.

What Works

Critics landed in the mid 70s on Metacritic, and nearly every review praised the variety. The transformations really do play differently, and the best ones, like Swordfighter and Detective, are a delight. The theater setting is full of charm, costumes, and set changes, and it is a gentle, welcoming game for younger players or anyone new to action games.

What Breaks

Listen well. It is very easy, and most players finish in under a dozen hours. Some transformations are shallow and repeat the same tricks. The frame rate drops in busy scenes, which several reviews called out. Experienced players may feel the challenge never arrives.

Who Should Play

Play it with a young ape who loves Peach, costumes, or theater, or if you want a relaxed, varied adventure for an easy weekend. Skip it if you want a demanding platformer; Super Mario Bros. Wonder will push you harder.
