7.5 of 10 bananas. Both LEGO Harry Potter games, Years 1 to 4 and Years 5 to 7, remastered for PS5 in one cheap package. Gentle, funny, and perfect for co-op with young wizards, though the age shows in the camera and the split screen.

Honest note: This is not a fresh hands-on playtest. I built this verdict from launch reviews, critic consensus, update history, and what is known about the game today. If I put real hours in on stream, I will update the score and say so.

Sit with me a moment. Some apes want a deep RPG. Some want to sit on the couch with their kid, cast a spell that turns a pile of bricks into a staircase, and laugh when Ron falls apart. This box is for the second kind of evening, and there are a lot of them in a year.

What It Wants To Be

LEGO Harry Potter Collection bundles LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1 to 4 and Years 5 to 7. You play through all seven books and eight films in LEGO form, with silent slapstick in the first game and voices in the second, solving puzzles with spells, potions, and characters. Two players share the adventure in drop in co-op, and Hogwarts is a hub full of secrets and collectibles. The PS5 version adds sharper visuals, 4K, and 60 frames per second according to Warner Bros.

What Works

Both games were well liked at launch, and they hold up as the gentlest way into the Wizarding World. Hogwarts as a hub is a joy to explore, the humor works for kids and parents, and there is a huge amount to collect. For the price of one new game, you get two complete adventures.

What Breaks

Listen well. These are old games under new paint. The camera fights you, the split screen can be awkward, and the puzzles are simple for adults. Some collectibles are tedious, and there is no online co-op. Fans of Hogwarts Legacy will find this much smaller and much sillier.

Who Should Play

Play it if you have young Potter fans in the house or want an easy co-op game for two. Skip it if you want a deep magic RPG; that is Hogwarts Legacy.
