What It Wants To Be
A poker roguelike from LocalThunk, published by Playstack. You play poker hands, stack jokers, and try to clear antes. Steam app 2379780. It shipped February 20, 2024. It is not a 4X. Civilization owns that shelf. This is a cult card game: tiny, contagious, and mean in the math.
What Works
The loop is vicious and fair. One joker changes the math. A bad habit becomes a build. It respects your time in the rude way that steals it. You can feel the hook in ten minutes, which is why player reviews on Steam piled up so high.
What Breaks
Listen well. It is numbers. If you hate a spreadsheet wearing a card face, you will bounce. Late antes become a wall of optimization. There is no world to walk. There is a table, and the table wins.
Who Should Play
Play if you like builds, runs, and one more try. Skip if you wanted a grand strategy map. The Amazon button is the real game on a PS5 disc, not a guide and not a deck of merch.
