GAME TRAVELER DELUXE ZELDA HYLIAN SHIELD CASE: THE SHIELD YOU CAN ACTUALLY BUY THIS WEEK

7.5 of 10 bananas. Nintendo's official Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 case sold out on day one, and this officially licensed Hylian Shield case from Game Traveler jumped into Amazon's top 100 video game best sellers the same week. It holds a Switch 2 and 12 game cards for 27.99 dollars, but it is a plain case with a Zelda print, not a collector's piece.

Honest note: This is not a hands-on test for this review. I built this verdict from the Amazon listing, the maker's product page, my own captures of Amazon's best seller chart, and public restock trackers for Nintendo's official case. I have not held this case, dropped it, or checked the zipper myself. If I carry one on stream, I will update the score and say so.
Store check, Oct 31 2026: new units on offer, sold and shipped by Amazon.com. Prices and sellers change, so look before you pay.
Sit with me a moment. The Zelda 40th Anniversary gear landed on Oct 29, and the troop watched it vanish in minutes. When the official case is gone, apes do what apes do: they look for the next shield on the shelf. This week, that shelf was Amazon, and this green Hylian Shield case climbed it.
What It Is
The Game Traveler Deluxe Travel Case, model HS12GRN, is an officially licensed hard shell case from R.D.S. Industries with the Hylian Shield printed on the lid. The maker says it fits the Nintendo Switch 2, Switch OLED, and original Switch, with a recessed bottom insert that holds the system. A padded Protection Library holds 12 game cards and covers the screen and analog sticks, and it comes with two small microSD card cases that hold two cards each. It has a carry handle. Those are maker claims; I have not tested them.
Why It Is Moving
In my daily captures of Amazon Best Sellers in Video Games, this case was not in the top 100 on Oct 29 or Oct 30, and it showed up at number 72 on Oct 31. The cause is easy to see. Nintendo's own Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 carrying case went on sale Oct 29 at 39.99 dollars and sold out. A public restock tracker logged five short Best Buy restocks between Oct 29 and Oct 30, some lasting a single minute, and GameStop lists it as currently unavailable. On the same Amazon chart, the official Zelda 40th Pro Controller and carrying case were ranked high but showed as unavailable at my check. With Ocarina of Time for Switch 2 arriving Nov 5, Zelda fans want a shield now, and this is one Amazon can ship. The listing also showed Amazon's Choice, 1K plus bought in the past month, and 4.8 stars from 108 ratings, a small but strong rating count.
Who It Is For
Switch 2 owners who carry the console on trips or to school, want room for a stack of game cards, and love Zelda. It also suits families with an older Switch or OLED, since the maker says it fits all three.
What To Watch Out For
It is not Nintendo's own 40th Anniversary case and it does not come with a screen protector, so collectors may feel it is a stand in. The microSD cases were made for regular microSD cards, and Switch 2 games need microSD Express cards, which are the same size but cost more. The case is thick and bulky compared with slim cases, so it is for a backpack, not a pocket. 108 ratings is still a small sample. And when a big launch drives demand, marketplace sellers sometimes raise prices; at my check it was Amazon.com at 27.99, so do not pay much more.
