8.5 of 10 bananas. tobspr's factory builder strips away combat and resources to leave pure logistics: cut, rotate, paint, and stack shapes in space, then scale up until the screen is a river of belts.

Honest note: This is not a fresh hands-on playtest. I built this verdict from launch reviews, critic consensus, update history, and what is known about the game today. If I put real hours in on stream, I will update the score and say so.

Platforms: PC on Steam (developed and published by tobspr Games, 1.0 release April 23 2026 per Steam). Single player. The only button is the Steam store, where it was 23.99 dollars at my Nov 5 2026 check. Steam lists a Metacritic score of 80.

Sit with me a moment. Factorio has bugs that bite. shapez 2 has none. It is just you, a problem, and a belt that has to go somewhere. Some apes find that boring. Others look up and the sun has set.

What It Wants To Be

shapez 2 is a 3D factory automation game. The goal is always a shape: you mine basic pieces, then build machines that cut, rotate, stack, and paint them into what the hub asks for. Space platforms and trains let factories grow huge.

What Works

Steam lists a Metacritic score of 80. Without enemies or power juggling, every problem is a clean puzzle, and the 3D layers make big factories readable. It runs smooth and looks great when everything moves.

What Breaks

Listen well. With no threat and no story, some players lose interest once the puzzles turn into scaling. Later goals can feel like long repetitive builds. It is not on consoles.

Who Should Play

Play it if you love Factorio's belts but not its biters. Skip it if you need a story or danger.

STRENGTHS

  • Pure, clean logistics puzzles
  • Readable 3D factories
  • Calm, no combat
  • Fair Steam price

HONEST COSTS

  • No story or threat
  • Late goals feel long
  • PC only
  • No Amazon option
ALPHA VERDICT: 8.5 of 10. The calmest factory game there is. Pure flow for the belt apes. See shapez 2 on Steam, then meet the troop on Twitch.

Store note: the troop still needs an Amazon referral for this one. There is no physical PC release to link. Steam is the only button until a fair listing is real. This is not an affiliate link.
