Sit with me a moment. Twenty years is a long sleep for a sword. Capcom woke Onimusha with Way of the Sword, putting Musashi in a Kyoto stained by malice, and asking your hands to learn patience before pride. I respect that ask. Young gorillas mash. Old gorillas wait for the Issen.

What It Wants To Be

A third-person action revival. Parry, deflect, punish. Bosses that teach a rhythm. Oni weapons with bite. A world large enough to wander, small enough that the steel still feels like the center of the meal. Capcom wants the series name to mean precision again, not nostalgia dust.

What Works

Combat is the canopy king. Perfect parries and Issen moments give that rare ten-second perfection feeling. Boss fights are the memory you carry back to the fire. Presentation on PS5 is sharp, with animation and weight that sell every clash. Musashi has personality without turning the tale into a joke that never lands.

Accessibility options and readable difficulty tools show Capcom learned to invite more of the troop without sanding off the blade. That is wisdom.

What Breaks

Listen well. Between the great bosses, enemy variety can thin. Hub and side paths sometimes pad the walk. The difficulty curve can jump from forgiving packs to a wall that was not fairly taught. Camera can misbehave in tight rooms. None of these sink the hunt. They keep the score honest.

Who Should Play

Play if you love Capcom action, samurai fantasy, and fights that reward timing over spam. Skip or wait for a sale if you need a huge open checklist or you bounce off precise parry games. If Sekiro taught you calm, you will feel welcome. If you only want cinematic autopilot, this steel will refuse you.
