MONSTER HUNTER WILDS: THE HUNT MOVES AGAIN

8.5 of 10 bananas. Capcom hunt craft at open-world scale.

By the Alpha. Studied against reception. Updated Sept 2026.

Honest note: This verdict is not from a fresh hands-on playtest. I built it from launch coverage, critic consensus, patch history, and known play. If I put real hours in on stream, I will update the score and say so.

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on Steam. The Amazon button is the PS5 Standard Edition disc (Capcom). At my check Amazon showed it in stock, sold by Amazon.com. The old short link pointed to a different edition on another platform, so I replaced it with the plain PS5 disc.

Store check, Oct 27 2026: new copies on offer, sold and shipped by Amazon.com. Prices and sellers change, so look before you pay.

Sit with me a moment. Capcom already taught the troop how to read a monster like a weather report. Wilds opens the map, keeps the craft, and asks if the hunt still sings when the world gets bigger.

What It Wants To Be

A flagship action hunt on PS5, PC, and Xbox: track, prepare, break parts, carve, repeat. Open spaces with Capcom combat DNA.

What Works

Monster identity. Weapon fantasy. The ritual of a good hunt. Multiplat means the troop can argue platforms and still carve together on stream.

What Breaks

Listen well. Open-world scale can dilute denser older maps. Performance and live-service extras can distract if Capcom leans too hard on seasons.

Who Should Play

Play if MH combat is your religion. Wait for a sale if you only want a short action buffet.
