Sit with me a moment. The first CONTROL taught the troop a lesson: power without calm is just noise. CONTROL Resonant, from Remedy, takes Dylan Faden out of the Oldest House and into a Manhattan that does not obey gravity, memory, or mercy. I studied the trailers and the studio track record. I will not pretend I cleared every zone yet. I will tell you what the design wants, and where the scars may land.

What It Wants To Be

A paranatural action RPG sequel. You play Dylan after the Bureau, charged with containing cosmic threats while the Hiss and Mold chew the city. The Aberrant weapon shifts form. Environments warp. Choices shape how powers grow. Remedy wants story that sticks and combat that improvises when the floor decides to become a wall.

What Works

Identity. Remedy still writes weird with purpose. Sibling tension between Dylan and Jesse gives the fight a human core. The city-as-puzzle idea is ripe: vertical routes, gravity tricks, and rooms that refuse to stay honest. If you loved floating guns and bureau memos, this is the next vine up the canopy.

What Breaks

Listen well. Sequels of this size often ship with ambition that outruns day-one polish. Open Manhattan is hungrier than a single building. Expect density questions, performance questions, and the usual debate about whether systems depth matches the trailer glow. Mark rumor as rumor until you hold the pad yourself.

Who Should Play

Pre-order if CONTROL was your religion and Remedy story is your food. Wait for reviews if you only want a clean shooter without weird paperwork. Fans of Alan Wake adjacent strangeness will feel at home.

STRENGTHS

  • Remedy tone and paranatural identity
  • Dylan focused story with real stakes
  • Shifting weapon and warped traversal fantasy
  • City scale that expands the series map

HONEST COSTS

  • Ambition may outrun day-one polish
  • Open city density is unproven until launch
  • Best for fans of the first game tone
  • Some claims remain trailer-side until hands-on
